About Us

 In early 1999, what started out as a way to make some extra money became a labor of love! I found a book on natural soap making and began the wonderful process of learning all about soap. Many soap bars later, I realized I had an interest in candle making as well. I began to research and learn all that I could on the fine art of making candles. After much testing I began to give my candles to family and friends. Soon, however, my circle of  "family and friends" grew. 
Thus, the "Candle Bakery®" was born! 
 

I had originally used paraffin in my candles as soy wax was not readily available (or even heard of) at that time.  However, in early 2000 I read about a "new" soy wax available to candle makers. I had always been interested in the natural approach such as in natural soap making so I ordered some. Soy wax, I soon found out, can be a very difficult medium to work with.  But I pressed on because I was determined to use this for my candles.  I'm so glad I did!  After many, many months spent testing we believe we found the perfect formula for our candles.  I am very proud to say that we were one of the very first soy candle companies on the internet!

Although our candles and products have gone through some changes over the years, one thing has not changed.......our commitment to quality!  Each item is labeled and packaged with care. Our product line has expanded and evolved since the beginning to include natural soaps, air fresheners, home fragrance scenting, perfumes, accessories and more.
